strollin' down Las Ramblas, the hustle and bustle of business and life surrounds.
this one was risky business, but a nice, shaded street view is the prize.
just one of the city squares - lot's goin' on.

when i think of spanish architecture and design, i think of this.
if you look closely, one of the street performers is mimicking a large, blue tree...for some reason.

a well-preserved, yet bland cathedral in the historic district.
a
very colorful building-front.
a historic roman column that remains tucked away, only for serious enthusiasts to see!
just another view that caught the eye...
an interesting park, who's name i never caught...shame on me.
Just another city view.
one of Barcelona's bull-fighting arenas!
simply one of the best paint jobs i've seen!
the view from somewhere near the top of La Sagrada Familia, one of local
architect Gaudi's pride and joy's.
a powerful scene graces one of the entrances of La Sagrada Familia.
this is some nice work, a little freaky though.
well
hello there Mediterranean - so nice to see you!
the Arc of Triumph, Barcelona-style...
a glimpse under the Arc's...well, under the Arc's arc.
no rational explanation available for this one. use your imagination.
the beautiful entrance to Gaudi's Parc Guell.

from Guell's entrance, paradise (and a bunch of elderly tourists) welcomes you...
okay, a little to the left. now move back a touch. right THERE is where you
all can stand if you want to ruin this picture, thanks! ahhhh! i suppose all
was not lost...
danger quite possibly awaits as i continue my ascent of the hills within Guelll.
another look at Parc Guell.

and another - a creative guy, that Gaudi.
Another interesting walkway through Guell.
again, Parc Guell. in the distance can be seen two sets of twin towers. The
foremost
set is from La Sagrada Familia, the back two are Barcelona's twin towers, on
the coast.
a clearer picture of what i was attempting to describe above. did i say 'clearer'?
one last view of Parc Guell. thanks Gaudi!
not a bad tag job, if i do say so myself!

more Spanish colonial balconies!
shooting
streams of water...check. foliage...check. statues...check.
it's official - I've encountered yet another fountain.
Just your basic deciduous growing out of water.

a serene water paradiso.
One of the locales for the filming of the disney remake "mike in wonderland".
barcelona's version of 'the thinker'.

more Spanish architecture. check out those balcony rails!
not
much to say about this. however, in theory, this is worth a thousand words,
so please take a couple of them and create a clever saying!
and i thought there wouldn't be a familiar face in all of Spain!
a
view of La Sagrada Familia under construction. seriously folks, i will be making
a
return trip somewhere near the end (if i'm allowed) to see this work. i hope
it's finished!
one
of the entrance's to Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia. alright this is a formal call-to-action.
If you appreciate architecture in the least, you owe it to yourself to invest
a little time and
at least look up Gaudi and his legacy on the web. actually, I'm not even going
to give an excuse,
just go here.
all i have to say is...wild, just wild.
And with this, i bid adios a Barca!
